FAQs

How do I choose the right height for my dog?

To get the full health benefits of an elevated feeder, the height must be correct.

  1. Measure: Have your dog stand up. Measure from the floor to the top of their shoulders (withers).

  2. Calculate: Subtract approximately 6 inches from that measurement. This is the ideal height for the rim of the bowl.

    • Example: If your dog is 20" tall at the shoulder, a 14" stand is perfect.

  3. Chest Level: The goal is for your dog to eat without bending their legs or craning their neck down. The bowl should be level with their lower chest.

What if I choose the wrong size?

We strongly recommend measuring before you buy.

  • Standard Stands: You can return them within 30 days (Return shipping fees apply).

  • Custom/Engraved Stands: These are final sale and cannot be returned for size issues.

Do you have stands for large breeds like Great Danes?

Yes! We offer custom sizing options. If our standard Large sizes aren’t tall enough, please contact us for a Custom Height order.

Is the wood waterproof? My dog is a messy drinker.

Our stands are sealed with a high-quality, marine-grade water-resistant finish. They can easily handle water splashes, drool, and wet food spills.

  • Maintenance: However, wood is natural. We recommend wiping up standing water after mealtime. Do not let water sit on the wood surface for hours, as it may eventually damage the finish.

Can I put the stand in the dishwasher?
  • Bowls: YES. The stainless steel or ceramic bowls included with your stand are 100% dishwasher safe.

  • Wooden Stand: NO. Never put the wooden stand in the dishwasher or submerge it in a sink. It will warp, crack, and the finish will peel. Simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth.

Are the materials safe for my pet?

Absolutely. We use:

  • Solid Hardwood: No toxic glues or particle board.

  • Food-Safe Finish: Non-toxic sealants that are safe even if your dog licks the stand.

  • Lead-Free Bowls: We only use high-quality stainless steel or ceramic bowls tested for food safety.

Can I engrave my dog’s name?

Yes! We love personalized items.

  • How: Select the “Personalize” option on the product page. You can enter your dog’s name (and pick a font style).

  • Note: Please double-check spelling. We engrave exactly what you type.

How long does a personalized order take?

Please allow an additional 3–5 business days for us to laser engrave and re-seal the wood. Good things take time!

Can I cancel a custom order?

You have 24 hours to cancel or change a custom order. After that, the production process begins, and the order is locked.

  • Resolution: We will ship you a replacement bowl immediately for free. (Please discard the broken pieces safely).

Why should I use an elevated feeder?

Elevated feeders are often recommended by veterinarians to:

  • Aid Digestion: Gravity helps food move to the stomach.

  • Reduce Strain: Helps dogs with arthritis or neck pain eat without bending painfully.

  • Cleanliness: Keeps food and water up off the floor and away from dust/bugs.

Does this prevent Bloat (GDV)?

While elevated feeders can help with digestion and posture, “Bloat” is a complex medical condition. We recommend consulting your veterinarian for specific advice regarding your dog’s risk factors.
